Time for a party - a Tea Party that is. If you aren’t aware of what they are about, well it’s a grassroots movement protesting big government pork-laden spending bills driving the country into debt. It’s about government bailouts of large corporations deemed “too big to fail”. It’s about responsible people having to pay the mortgages of irresponsible people. It’s not a Republican or a Democrat thing (after all Bush started the whole mess with the automakers bailout). It’s a people’s movement that started before CNBC’s Rick Santelli ranted on the air about the mortgage bailout plan. In fact, Michelle Malkin has a complete timeline as to how they started. If you’re planning to attend you can use the photos on her page to get ideas for a sign.
Last time I checked, Tea Parties were scheduled in 300 cities across the U.S. Media Mad Men will be at the Morehead City, NC Tea Party blogging, recording and photographing. Go to the Tax Day Tea Party website and find the one nearest you.
